What this looks like

The portfolio grew one property and one legal entity at a time. The tax record usually did not grow with it.

Benefits for your group

Know what sits behind every property.

Keep the ownership map, tax attributes, and source documents connected to the company that owns the property.

01

Match the tax record to the ownership map

Connect corporations, partnerships, Holdcos, and management companies, then open the exact company record behind each property.

02

Keep CCA and losses with the company that earned them

See Schedule 8 UCC and CCA details and Schedule 4 loss information with the company, return, and supporting document they came from.

03

Acquire a property company. Bring its tax history with it.

Upload the prior returns, notices, and supporting documents that arrive with an acquisition. TaxDesk shows the facts it finds beside their source documents for review, so your team does not have to start from blank records.

04

Find the history when a transaction begins

Pull together returns, notices, balances, ownership records, and supporting documents when the group refinances, reorganizes, or sells a company.

Companies and ownership

See the whole portfolio without combining separate companies.

TaxDesk connects the group while preserving the boundary around every corporation and partnership. Your team can move from the ownership structure to the exact notice, filing, or source document behind the work.

Keep prior returns, changes, and supporting documents available when staff or advisors change.

Who it is for

Especially useful when one person can no longer track the whole group.

  • Privately owned real estate groups
  • Property portfolios using separate corporations
  • Groups with Holdcos, LPs, or management companies
  • Finance teams coordinating external tax advisors
A clear boundary

TaxDesk is most useful when the group has several related entities and the company needs to own the ongoing tax record. It does not replace property-management, bookkeeping, or tax-preparation software.

Common questions

Know where TaxDesk fits.

Does TaxDesk manage properties or tenants?

No. TaxDesk organizes the corporate tax record around the entities that own and operate the properties. It does not manage leases, tenants, maintenance, or property accounting.

Can our external accountant use the same record?

Yes. Approved external advisors can work from the same company, obligation, document, and tax history that your internal team maintains.

Does TaxDesk prepare or file our returns?

No. Your accountant still prepares and files the returns. TaxDesk helps the company organize and track its tax records and work across the group.
